NA debates management, use of state capital, assets
(VOVWORLD) -NA deputies on Monday discussed the implementation of laws and policies on using and managing state resources in enterprises and the equitization of state-owned enterprises from 2011 to 2016.
Chairman of the NA’s Economic Committee Vũ Hồng Thanh said that the amount of equity of State-owned enterprises has steadily increased. In 2016 the total capital of the state-owned enterprises was more than 61 billion USD, up 92% from 2011. At the end of 2016, there were 583 wholly state-owned enterprises. SOEs haven proven their important role in regulating macro economy, and promoting socio-economic growth, Mr Thanh said.
“SOEs are concentrating on key sectors of the economy or on areas without investment. Many SOEs lead in investment, technology transfer, international integration, and market stabilization. Most of them are profitable, steadily boosting the national budget. In 2016 SOEs’s total revenue reached nearly 66 billion USD. At the end of 2016, 18 wholly state-owned groups and cooperations invested more than 12 billion USD abroad,” Mr Thanh elaborated.
