(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese lawmakers on Tuesday debated revisions to the Law on Higher Education and to the Law on the People’s Public Security Forces.
Most National Assembly deputies agreed that the revised higher education law should be adopted at this year-end session.
Phan Thanh Binh, Head of the NA Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children, said: "The Law on Higher Education, once adopted, will create a legal framework for higher education institutions to promote their autonomy and improve their programs."
The Law on Higher Education was passed in 2012.
The deputies said that the revised Law on the People’s Public Security Forces will help streamline the apparatus and improve the effectiveness of the Ministry of Public Security.
