(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly deputies debated a draft Law on Mediation and Dialogue at Court in Hanoi on Tuesday.
They said the law matches Party guidelines and policies as well as treaties Vietnam has signed. The law defines a new mechanism for mediation and dialogue at court to help agencies, organizations, and individuals resolve disputes.
"We need to define the court’s responsibilities, the rights and responsibilities of parties, as well as dialogue and mediation procedures," said Ta Minh Tam, a deputy for Tien Giang province.
The Supreme People's Court studied the mediation laws of South Korea, Japan, China, the US, India, and Germany.
