NA official visits Bac Lieu, Soc Trang for Chol Chnam Thmay Festival
(VOVWORLD) - Chairman of the National Assembly's Council for Ethnic Affairs Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam visited the Mekong Delta provinces of Bac Lieu and Soc Trang Monday on the occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay, one of the most important festivals of the Khmer ethnic minority.

While visiting local dignitaries, monks, and nuns at Som Rong pagoda in Soc Trang city, Chairman Kdam said he hopes the pagoda’s executive board will continue to encourage Buddhist followers to observe Party guidelines and State policies to make Soc Trang richer and more beautiful and strengthen great national unity.
During his visit to Bac Lieu province the same day, Chairman Kdam urged local Buddhist dignitaries and followers and local Khmer people to strengthen unity.
On this occasion, Chairman Kdam gave Bac Lieu province 4,400 USD to support disadvantaged Khmer residents.
