The rate of “high confidence” for National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan was 90.1 percent of votes, and 81.03 percent of deputies gave Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc high confidence votes. The vote of confidence was conducted in the morning of Thursday. A total of 48 officials were subject to the vote. Commenting on the outcomes of the collection of confidence votes, Mr. Dang Huu Hao in Da Nang said: “The results show an objective and practical evaluation. I hope that officials with votes of high confidence will bring into play their achievements and those with votes of low confidence will do their best to meet the needs of voters.”
Vo Thanh Nghi in Long An said: “The National Assembly collecting of confidence votes shows its determination to develop a strong administration and enhance people’s trust. It requires the officials to review their performance and make it better.”
The same day, the National Assembly discussed the draft Law on Protection of State Secrets. Presenting a report on revisions to the draft law, Head of the National Assembly Committee for National Defense and Security Vo Trong Viet said that stipulations concerning violations of state secrets, lists of state secrets and the duration for state secret protection have been revised.
