Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh at the Q&A session on October 31, 2018

Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh talked about measures to tackle climate change impact, especially in the Mekong Delta. He said: “We have focused on natural disaster preparedness and climate change forecast in a joint programs by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment and the Ministry of Science and Technology. Scientists have developed scenarios and evaluated trends and causes of infiltration in the Mekong Delta and recommended harvest patterns, plants and husbandry.”

Head of the Government Office, Mai Tien Dung, emphasized on the government priority to develop e-government and online public services as Vietnam ranks 88 in the UN ranking of 183 countries in terms of e-government development. He said: “The Prime Minister has set up the National Committee on e-Government based on national application of information technology. Ministries have been assigned the task of drafting regulations and building an overarching architecture of e-government, national database and security. We need to act in sync in all ministries and provinces in this direction.”
