(VOVworld)- The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Wednesday discussed revisions to the Social Insurance Law including the expansion of social insurance beneficiaries. Accordingly, labourers with permanent jobs from 1 to 3 months are required to buy compulsory social insurance. According to the deputies, this will help ensure social security for labourers when they become unable to work. The deputies agreed that the State should provide minimum assistance to encourage farmers and non-official workers to buy voluntary social insurance. The deputies also discussed pensions, the balance of the social insurance fund, inspection of social insurance contributions and insurance for labour accidents and work-related illnesses.
