NA Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu welcomes German parliamentarians

At a meeting with Renate Künast, Chairwoman of the Bundestag (federal parliament) Parliamentary Friendship Group for Relations with the ASEAN States in Hanoi on Thursday, Luu said that the early enforcement of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) would become a driving force in intensifing economic, trade and investment relations between Vietnam  and the EU in general and Germany in particular. Highlighting the two countries’ recent approval of a plan of action for 2020-2021, Luu affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to its strategic partnership with Germany, its leading trade partner in the EU. Künast spoke highly of Vietnam’s efforts to deal with the acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (Covid-19). She expressed her belief that  bilateral relations will develop further based on the results  achieved over the past 45 years.
