(VOVworld) – National Assembly Vice-chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan paid tribute to the memorial monument of Quang Tri citadel’s martyrs on Sunday to mark 67 years of Vietnam’s War Martyrs and Invalids’ Day July 27th.
Thousands of Vietnamese soldiers died during the 81-day campaign to defend the citadel in 1972. Their sacrifice contributed significantly to the liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification.
Earlier, Head of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc visited and presented gifts to heroic Vietnamese mother Le Thi Thi in Hai Thuong commune, Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province.
