National Assembly approves Vietnam’s accession to ILO’s Convention 98
(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly deputies on Friday passed a resolution on Vietnam’s joining Convention 98 of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) which deals with the right to organize and bargain collectively.
Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for External Relations Nguyen Van Giau said: “The Government has studied the effects of Vietnam’s admission to Convention 98 on its politics, socio-economics, defense, and security and the opportunities and challenges facing Vietnam as a member. The National Assembly Standing Committee suggested the Government, while implementing the Convention, continue studying its impacts to address arising problems properly.”
Earlier, deputies voted yes on the revised Law on Education, which will fulfill the target of comprehensive development for Vietnamese people. The law will take effect from July next year.
The National Assembly also adopted the Law on Alcohol Harm Prevention and a resolution on the legislature supervision program in 2020.
