(VOVworld) - On Wednesday, the National Assembly began procedures on the dismissal and election of the Prime Minister, and approved the Prime Minister’s proposal on dismissing and appointing a number of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other cabinet members. On the sidelines of the session, deputies expressed confidence that the government led by the Prime Minister will, in a spirit of renovation, make drastic changes to steer Vietnam out of current difficulties and the challenges of international economic integration. Many deputies said in the previous term, the government took aggressive measures to achieve major goals and met the demand for national development and integration. However, the legislators also pointed out shortcomings and recommended that the government concentrate on macro-economic stabilization and reasonable growth.

Deputy Vo Thi Hong Thoai, representing Bac Lieu province, said: “I expect that the new government, especially the Prime Minister, will uphold the achieved results and find effective measures to minimize shortcomings. The government leader needs to be more dynamic and determined in realizing the goals set by the National Assembly. Government agencies should be united and more responsible in performing their duties. Efforts should be made to strengthen checks and inspections at the central and local levels, delegating power to carry out tasks entrusted by the government”.
Deputy Bui Duc Thu of Lai Chau province is interested in seeing how the government will fight corruption in the next term: “The Party, State, National Assembly, and Government consider the fight against corruption a primary task. But the results are not living up to the people’s expectations. I hope that the new government led by the new Prime Minister will adopt concrete measures to prevent corruption, winning the people’s trust and making the socio-economic environment transparent”.
