The Chairwoman received outgoing Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Konstantin Vnukov in Hanoi on Friday. She said the National Assembly of Vietnam and the State Duma of Russia will maintain and develop the Vietnam-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee ‘s sessions into an effective channel of cooperation between the two countries.

As the ASEAN Chair for 2020 and Chair of ASEAN Inter-parliamentary Assembly (AIPA 41), Vietnam continues to support and promote the ASEAN-Russia strategic partnership, Chairwoman Ngan said.

Ambassador Vnukov said the relationship with ASEAN is the nucleus of a series of international forums and cooperation mechanisms. ASEAN is a trusted partner and an important priority in Russia’s foreign policy.
