The Prime Minister said during the reviewed period, 17.45 billion USD worth of FDI were implemented, up 15.2% from last year, total import-export volume reached 616 billion USD, up 14.1%, and more than 178,000 businesses were set up or resumed their operation.

In regards to Vietnam’s external policy, the Prime Minister said Vietnam pursues a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, and being a good friend and a reliable partner of all countries in the world for peace, cooperation and development. Vietnam is a responsible member of the international community.

Mr. Chinh said Vietnam has basically contained the COVID-19 pandemic thanks to the engagement of the whole political system and the public and support from international friends.

According to Mr. Chinh, the government spent nearly 3.5 billion USD for social protection activities, is building 1 million houses for low-income people, and will raise wages for state employees and allowances for pensioners.

The Prime Minister said: “Vietnam will continue to maintain macro-economic stability, control inflation, and ensure major economic balances. To achieve these goals, Vietnam will implement various measures focusing on three growth drivers: consumption, investment, and export.”

Reviewing the Q&A session, Permanent Vice Chairman of the NA Tran Thanh Man said: “The Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, and Heads of Sectors have directly answered deputies’ questions and made clear explanation on a number of issues. They have also introduced practical, effective, and feasible solutions and ways to overcome pending problems.”

The NA closed its Q&A session on Saturday. During the 2.5-day session, 345 NA deputies registered to speak.
