National Buddhist Festival 2015 to be held in Quang Ninh

(VOVworld)- The 2015 National Buddhist Festival will be held on December 11^th in Quang Ninh province. Head of the Buddhist Shanga’s Executive Board in Quang Ninh province and Vice Chairman of Vietnam Buddhist Shanga's Executive Council Most Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet made the announcement in a press conference on Friday.

Under the theme “Truc Lam Zen Buddhism- Convergence and Pervasiveness", the festival will create an exchange opportunity for Buddhist followers across Vietnam. The festival will also help promote the Yen Tu relic site. Most Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet said: “King Monk Tran Nhan Tong is a great missionary of Vietnamese Buddhism both at home and abroad. The festival aims at highlighting the development and influence of Vietnamese Buddhism”.

The festival will feature a series of activities including a seminar on Truc Lam Zen Buddhism, a requiem for war martyrs, and a commemoration celebrating the 707^th anniversary of the attainment of Nirvana of King Monk Tran Nhan Tong.
