(VOvworld) - Over 700 artistes from 11 arts troupes nationwide participated in the annual National Tuong (classic drama) and Traditional Folk Opera Contest which opened in Da Nang on Saturday.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the contest included 17 performances, of which 10 are classic drama. The performances feature great humanitarian values, the undaunted spirit of Vietnamese people in the history of national construction and defense, as well as the achievements of Vietnam’s renewal process. Nguyen Thi Hien is from the Bai Choi art troupe of Binh Dinh province: “I really love Bai Choi singing. Through such a contest like this, I can learn a lot from other artists”.
