Ethnic minority people celebrate National Day.

Moc Chau town in the northern mountainous province of Son La hosted folk games and art performances on Friday. 

“The Mong people celebrate two major festivals – the traditional lunar new year festival and the independence festival. We have been gathering here since August 31 to celebrate the independence festival,” said local resident Mua A Cua of the Mong ethnic minority group.

Another Moc Chau resident Quang Thi Mai of the La Ha ethnic minority told VOV, “I’m very excited to join National Day celebrations after a 2-year hiatus because of COVID-19. I prepared for this event more than a week ago.”

9 teams compete in the 2022 boat race in Thua Thien-Hue province.

The same day, a traditional boat race took place on the Huong River in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, drawing 9 teams with 300 members. 

“Boat racing always attracts large crowds. This competition aims to tighten the bonds between localities in the province and encourage water sports,” said  Tran Thanh Tuan, Director of the provincial Sports Center.

Thua Thien-Hue authorities also organized the 2022 Hue Unicorn Festival and a music show called "Hue in Autumn."
