National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on Monday for Heads of Vietnamese representative missions abroad for the 2023-2026 term.
“External affairs have always captured the particular interest of the public. Parliamentary external affairs help link the people of Vietnam and other countries and inform partners of Vietnam’s development, vision, and policies."
"I hope that Vietnamese representative missions abroad will help strengthen relations between the National Assembly and legislative bodies in the host countries,” he said.
Diplomacy needs to advance to raise Vietnam’s reputation, position and role in the international arena, Mr. Hue said.
