The news was announced after a meeting between Jacossou and Musa al-Koni last Saturday in Tripoli.
A statement published by the Presidential Council on Facebook stated that al-Koni appreciated the efforts of the Congo’s President Denis Sassou Nguesso and the African Union in supporting the reconciliation and peace in Libya.
The Congolese Foreign Minister praised the efforts of the Libyan Presidential Council to achieve stability and emphasized the importance of the participation of the Council in making the upcoming reconciliation conference a success.
Libya has been in turmoil since the 2011 coup d’etat that overthrew Moammar Gadhafi. Libya now has two governments - the Government of National Unity in Tripoli headed by Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah and Prime Minister Ossama Hammad’s Government based in eastern Libya.
