The move aims to enhance awareness and responsibilities of Party Committees, administrations, and people for combating natural disasters and undertake the task of building a society safe from natural disasters for sustainable development. The Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control is in charge of defining theme for each year, devise frame plans, and instruct ministries, government agencies, the People’s Committees at provincial level and relevant organizations to hold activities in response to the National Week for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.
