Mustafa said his government's current priorities include alleviating the suffering of the residents of the Gaza Strip, achieving financial stability, and implementing a program to reform and develop institutions.

He said his government has been calling on the international community to enable immediate entry of humanitarian relief to Gaza, achieve a ceasefire, and start reconstruction.

Mustafa said a Minister of State for Relief Affairs will lead the government's efforts to organize emergency relief operations and form a large coalition of international institutions and supporting bodies.

Riyad Mansour, Palestine's envoy to the UN, said the Palestinian Authority wants the UN Security Council to vote this month to make it a full member of the UN at an April 18 ministerial meeting on the Middle East, but a vote has yet to be scheduled.

He said Palestine submitted an application for full membership in 2011, but the application is still pending. Palestine's application must be approved by the UN Security Council and then by at least two-thirds of the 193 members of the General Assembly.
