New Year 2019 celebrated in Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - Thousands of people took to the street and emerged themselves in dazzling New Year countdown music parties held on Monday night around Hoan Kiem Lake to welcome New Year 2019.

As the clock ticked down the last hours of 2018, people counted to the New Year and exchanged New Year wishes to each other. Nguyen Phuong Thao from Cau Giay district, Hanoi, said “There are crowds of many people. The stage is beautifully decorated. I wish everyone a new year full of health, joy, and happiness”.
“This is the first time I have celebrated New Year at Hoan Kiem Lake. It’s so exciting. I wish I could do well in my final exam. I want to extend my best wishes to my parents and friends”, said Tran Van Khoi from Thai Binh province, who joined the New Year countdown party.
Ms. Dao Thi Yen said: “I wish everyone a lucky and prosperous new year. I hope Vietnam’s economy will see more breakthroughs this year so that workers’ living conditions will be better”.
People in the central cities and provinces merrily celebrated New Year on the streets in the drizzle weather. The ancient town of Hoi An welcomed thousands of visitors on this occasion.

In Da Nang, thousands of locals and visitors gathered at the March 29th Square for the Countdown Party 2019. The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre had cannon shooting when the clock ticked to the New Year 2019. 36-year-old Le Cong Hat said: “I wish everyone a New Year with peace, and I wish for favorable weather conditions. Wishing all of you success in your work and happiness”.
