Nguyen Thuy Linh wins championship at Vietnam Open 2023
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese champion Nguyen Thuy Linh defeated Japanese player Akari Kurihara in the final of the 2023 Vietnam Badminton Open on Sunday. Linh, who ranks 27th in the world, was the top seed of the tournament.

In the men's singles final, Huang Yu Kai of Taiwan (China), defeated No. 2 seed Takuma Obayashi of Japan.
The men's doubles championship went to Kenya Mitsuhashi and Hiroki Okamura of Japan. Hsieh Pei Shan and Tseng Yu-Chi of Taiwan (China) won the women's doubles. In the mixed doubles event, the Japanese team of Hiroki Nishi and Akari Sato won the championship.
The Vietnam Badminton Open 2023, a BWF Tour Super 100 event, with a total prize pool worth 100,000 USD, attracted 300 athletes from 23 countries and territories.
