(VOVworld) - Nha Trang city in Khanh Hoa province will host the first of series of events within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Vietnam 2017.

Nha Trang will host the first APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM 1) from February 18 to March 3 next year. SOM 1 will include more than 80 meetings attended by 2,500 delegates. Nha Trang will also be the host for a meeting of APEC Deputy Finance Ministers and a meeting of Deputy Governors of APEC Central Banks. 

On Tuesday, a delegation of the APEC sub-committee led by Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung discussed with Khanh Hoa authorities preparations for APEC events. Mr. Dung asked the provincial authorities to quickly complete infrastructure and personnel preparations to ensure security, traffic and medical services during the upcoming meetings, and publicize these events.
