The park is honored for its stunning scenery, cultural identity of local ethnic people, biodiversity, and geological heritages which can give researchers an insight into an over-500-million-year history of the Earth.
“Internationally recognized titles have promoted Vietnam’s land, people, and culture to a broader audience around the world. Non Nuoc Cao Bang is not only a global geopark but is also considered the cradle of the Vietnamese revolution,” said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the event.
Prime Minister Phuc suggested Cao Bang’s tourism development plan combine both natural landscapes and cultural and historical sites.
Before Non Nuoc Cao Bang, Dong Van Karst Plateau in the northern province of Ha Giang was recognized by UNESCO as a global geopark in 2010.
