North Korea cuts communication channels with South Korea

(VOVWORLD) - North Korea has cut off all communication lines with South Korea, state media has reported, after blasting Seoul for failing to stop defectors from sending anti-Pyongyang propaganda leaflets into North Korea.

KCNA said North Korea has shut down the hotline between its ruling Workers' Party and South Korea's presidential office Cheong Wa Dae and all military communication lines between the two nations.

The action came days after the North’s United Front Department (UFD) vowed to abolish an inter-Korean liaison office and completely shut down other major cross-border programs, denouncing leaflet-sending as a hostile act breaching current bilateral peace agreements.
