(VOVworld) – The North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has hailed a recent agreement with the South which aims to reduce animosity between the two countries.

Pyongyang's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said on Friday that Kim had praised the settlement as a "crucial landmark" that put "catastrophic" inter-Korean relations back on track. However, Mr. Kim Jong Un said peace restored on the verge of war is not achieved at the negotiating table but thanks to tremendous military muscle as well as a nuclear deterrent for self-defense built by the Workers Party of North Korea. The leader said the participating at the negotiation table does not mean North Korea’s abandonment of its nuclear weapon program, which Kim said is the key to maintaining peace.
