North Korea says US spy plane entered its economic zone
(VOVWORLD) - Kim Yo-jong, Deputy Department Director of the Publicity and Information Department of the Workers' Party of Korea, said a US military spy plane entered the country's Exclusive Economic Zone eight times and that Pyongyang’s warplanes had forced the retreat of the US spy plane over its territorial waters.

Ms. Kim vowed that the United States' forces will face counter measures if they repeat similar actions.
Lee Sung Joon, spokesperson for South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff, rejected Pyongyang’s accusations, saying the US remains committed to safely and responsibly flying, sailing, and operating anywhere international law allows.
In another development, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff on Wednesday said it had “detected what was presumed to be a long-range ballistic missile fired from the Pyongyang area off its eastern coast”.
The same day, Japan's Coast Guard and Defense Ministry made a similar statement. Japan's Coast Guard noted that the missile appeared to land outside Japan's exclusive economic zone roughly 550 kilometers east of the Korean peninsula.
