Party leader Trong on Friday chaired the national conference on the implementation of the 13th-tenure Politburo’s resolution on orientations for socio-economic development and defense-security in the northern midland and mountainous region by 2030, with a vision to 2045.
He emphasized five issues for 14 related provinces and central agencies to well address the relationship between regional development and economic growth of the whole country:
“It’s imperative to promote the revolutionary tradition and patriotism, proactiveness, creativity, self-reliance, and aspiration to move forward among local cadres, party members and people. The region should be determined to overcome contentment, averageism, and say no to poverty and inferiority to other provinces and regions. It’s necessary to strengthen the central government’s support and localities’ cooperation and assistance for faster and more sustainable regional economic development. Regional economy should grow higher than the national average on the basis of step-by-step growth model reform coupled with accelerated regional economic restructuring,” said Mr. Trong.
The Party chief urged for renewing mindset and fine-tuning institutions and policies for regional development.
