Under a tourism stimulus program sponsored by the Vietnam Tourism Association, the eight provinces (Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Yen Bai, and Ha Giang) will devise initiatives to utilize their tourism potential and help local ethnic minority people improve their livelihoods.
Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), said: “Fruitful inter-provincial connection requires further cooperation among state management agencies. Travel companies in major cities, such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City, need to work closely with service providers in the northwestern region to launch high-quality yet reasonably priced tours.”
