Son La province formed teams to work with communes to help people recover and stabilize their housing. Local authorities mobilized resources and teams to clear mud and ensure safe traffic.
Heavy rain in Son La province for the past five days has caused flooding, killed 15 people, damaged 1,200 houses, flooded six schools, destroyed thousands of hectares of crops, and swept away nearly 7,500 livestock and poultry. In Chieng Noi commune, six people are missing due to floods and landslides.
In Dien Bien province, local authorities are working with Dien Bien district and functional forces to mobilize resources for damage control and search and rescue efforts. Medical teams have treated the injured, and temporary housing was arranged for those who lost their homes. Provincial leaders have visited and supported families affected by the flood.
