(VOVworld) – A ceremony to pay tribute to martyrs was held at the Laos-Vietnam coalition force cemetery in Vientiane province, Laos, on Wednesday.

Delegates paid tribute to martyrs

Attendees were representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy, Vientiane provincial administration, the Laos War Veterans’ Association, the Association of Vietnamese people in Laos, overseas Vietnamese and local people. Vietnam’s Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Manh Hung acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Lao and Vietnamese soldiers for today’s peace, independence, and friendship between the two countries. He added that the next generations should stay united to nurture the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos in order to deserve the sacrifices of their predecessors.
