(VOVWORLD) - 12 patients infected with the Omicron variant in Ho Chi Minh City have recovered and were discharged from hospital.

Chief of the Office of Ho Chi Minh City’s Health Department Nguyen Thi Huynh Mai said on Thursday that the 12 cases tested positive for COVID-19 when they entered Vietnam and were isolated for treatment at Field Hospital 12 in Thu Duc City. Two of them had mild runny noses and a cough while the other had no symptoms.
About 2,000 people, who have had close contact with the patients, were tested negative for COVID-19.
So far Vietnam has reported 32 imported cases of Omicron, who were immediately sent to quarantine when they entered the country.
