(VOVworld) –13 member and non-member countries of OPEC reaffirmed their commitment to oil output cuts, following last year’s historic agreement to stabilize oil prices.

Any decision to extend OPEC production cuts past June would have to include the continued participation by the non-OPEC members of the November accord, OPEC Secretary General Mohammad Barkindo said.

At the annual energy conference CERAWeek in the US on Wednesday, Iraqi Oil Minister Jabar al-Luaibi said Iraq has achieved 85 percent compliance with an OPEC crude supply cut of 210,000 barrels per day. The United Arab Emirates is also accelerating its oil production cuts and expects to meet its commitment to reduce output by 139,000 barrels per day.
