The press conference introduces the “Proud of Vietnamese Farmers” program on October 14, 2017.

They are to be acknowledged for their dynamism, creativity, and strong will to overcome difficulties to become well-off and live responsibly within the community.

Pham Tien Nam, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association, told a press conference in Hanoi on Thursday: “The outstanding farmers represent the peasant class in upholding the Party’s guidelines, state policies, and government solutions in agricultural, farming, and rural development during 30 years of national renewal. The honored farmers will be the vanguard in new rural development, national defense, and sustainable agriculture.”

The “Proud of Vietnamese Farmers” program will include a national press award and a national farmers’ forum.
