Outstanding scientists honoured with title, order
(VOVWORLD) - State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Thursday handed over the “Labour Hero in the Renewal Period” title to the family of late Professor Academician Vu Tuyen Hoang, former Secretary of the Party delegation and President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA).

The honour was also given to Professor Hoang Chuong, Director of the Centre for Research, Conservation and Development of Traditional Culture at VUSTA. Several former VUSTA leaders also got the Independence Order.
In his remarks, the President praised Professors Hoang and Chuong and other scientists for their contribution to national development. He said scientists play a crucial role in fulfilling targets to turn Vietnam into a developing country with modern industry and a high middle income by 2030, as well as a developed country with high income by 2045.
“VUSTA needs to effectively implement the 13th Party Congress’ Resolution on science and technology development, work harder in order to improve the quality of human resources, attract talent, promote innovation and creation, and optimise scientific and technological advances in national development. It’s important to rally scientists at home and overseas, and inspire their desire for contribution, creativity and devotion to national development." said President Phuc.
