(VOVworld) – The Association of Vietnamese Buddhist followers in Russia organized the Vu Lan festival - a Buddhist ritual on Saturday.
Vu Lan ceremony is observed on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month to pay debt of gratitude to their parents.
Superior Monk Thich Minh Hien, Deputy Head of the Culture Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, hosted the rite and talked about the meaning of the Vu Lan festival.
This year’s ceremony was of great significance for overseas Vietnamese because it was organized for the first time in the newly inaugurated Vietnamese Buddhist Center in Moscow.
