(VOVworld)- Like other overseas Vietnamese around the world, the Vietnamese at Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia are busily preparing for the Vietnamese traditional Lunar New Year.

The living standard of people at Tonle Sap Lake has improved thanks to new policies of the Cambodian government. The Tet atmosphere at Tonle Sap Lake is particularly exciting this year. Nguyen Thi Nhang, 66, owns a grocery shop here: “Our business has gone well this year, so we can enjoy a bigger Tet holilday, and hoped for a better year to come. I am very well and so are my relatives and my neighbors. I sold more goods this year than last year.”
Mr Bui Van Be, Chairman of Vietnamese community of Tonle Sap Lake, said: “Vietnamese people here still maintain and promote the traditional Vietnamese Tet. People in different regions may celebrate differently but one thing in common is that Tet is the occasion of family reunions.”
Despite life’s many difficulties, Vietnamese community of Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia is preparing for a joyful Tet.
