OVs serve as a bridge linking Vietnam and the US: PM
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Saturday hailed the role of the Vietnamese community in the US in connecting the two countries and implementing agreements reached between Vietnam and the US.

Meeting with staff members of the Vietnamese Embassy in Washington D.C and representatives from the Vietnamese community in the East Coast of the US, PM Chinh reiterated that the Party and State always consider overseas Vietnamese an indispensable part of the community of ethnic groups in Vietnam.
Mr. Chinh asked the Vietnamese embassy to request the US to recognise the Vietnamese community as an ethnic minority of the country.
Hung Tran, Director of Tran Group said that PM Chinh’s speech indicates Vietnam’s open policy and encourages him to invest more in his homeland.
Of 5.3 million overseas Vietnamese, more than 2.2 million live in the US.
