Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his hope that Cameron’s visit will improve mutual understanding and strengthen relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and UK political parties, and promote bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, education, and training.

Mr. Trong said he hoped that the UK will continue raising its voice in support of the peaceful settlement of disputes in the Asia-Pacific region.

PM Cameron said the UK Government treasures its ties with Vietnam and considers Vietnam an important partner.

The UK will step up efforts to deliver on commitments in priority fields mentioned in the joint statement establishing the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership.
