In an interview with the TASS news agency, Mr. Trong said he will discuss with President Putin and other Russian leaders ways to promote bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern. He said he hopes his visit will create new momentum for the partnership and improve cooperation for the sake of Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, peace, stability, and development in the Asia-Pacific region.

Vietnam respects its comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, Mr. Trong said, adding that he hopes bilateral trade will grow strongly and become a true pillar of their relationship.
