Party General Secretary meets Party, State leaders, former leaders ahead of Tet
(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong hosted a meeting with leaders and former leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in Hanoi on Thursday, on the threshold of the Lunar New Year (Tet) – the biggest festival in a year of Vietnamese people.

Former Party leader Nong Duc Manh, former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, former National Assembly Chairpersons Nguyen Sinh Hung and Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and leaders of organizations attended the meeting.
He took the occasion to extend his best New Year wishes to Party, State and VFF leaders and former leaders, and people and soldiers living inside and outside the country.
He thanked all of them for their great contributions to the national construction and defence over the past years, especially in 2022.

In his address, the Party leader reviewed Vietnam’s socio-economic situation in 2022 and its achievements despite difficulties at home and in the world. He attributed Vietnam’s great achievements last year to the joint efforts, stance, and creativity of the entire Party, people and army. He highlighted Vietnam’s economic growth of more than 8%, surpassing the set target of 6-6.5% adding Vietnam’s social security has been ensured and people’s lives improved.

The Party leader said: "Our key task in the immediate future is to overcome difficulties, strengthen production, and improve the lives of the people and soldiers who are stationed in border and island areas, overcome consequences of natural disasters, epidemics, and bring a happy Tet to the people. In the coming time, the entire Party, people, and army need to strengthen solidarity and determination, join efforts, and uphold Vietnamese patriotism, intellectuality and tradition to make our country prosperous and happy."
The Party leader wished Vietnam’s revolutionary cause more success, development, and sustainability in the New Year.
