Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang, and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan participated.

Prime Minister Phuc reviewed the challenges and difficulties Vietnam confronted this year amidst global uncertainties. He praised efforts of ministries, sectors, and localities to improve Vietnam’s investment environment, remove trade barriers, boost technology application, and utilize resources. He lauded Vietnam’s economic growth of 6.81%, its improvement on the innovation index, and the higher rank of Vietnam’s banking system. More than 5,000 administrative procedures were slashed. 2017 saw great achievements in reinforcing disciplines and fighting corruption with major corruption cases brought to light, winning the people’s trust, he said.

Prime Minister Phuc urged for efforts to maintain growth momentum in line with the motto “Discipline, Integrity, Action, Creativity, Effectiveness”, to achieve next year’s growth targets.
