(VOVworld)- Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong on Monday attended the 60^th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. In his address, the Party leader praised the Academy’s achievements over the past year. He urged the Academy to accelerate its reform and fulfill its task in clarifying major relations as mentioned in the Platform on national development in the transition to socialism.

Trong said that the Academy needed to contribute to defending the correct ideology and eliminating hostile viewpoints. Party leader Trong said:“It is necessary to build a democratic, united and disciplinary working environment to bring creativity into play in line with the dialectical methodology of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh’s Thoughts and the guidelines of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Vietnamese law. The leaders of the Academy need to work out a plan to drastically reform the organization’s structures and working mechanisms, expand international relations and put in place measures to attract scientists from both inside and outside the country”.

Trong asked the Academy to further contribute to the communication of social sciences.
