(VOvworld) - The Association of former soldiers at the Quang Tri ancient citadel and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Tri held a requiem for fallen soldiers during an operation to protect the citadel in 1972. The fight has become a symbol of the spirit “ready to die for national salvation” and revolutionary heroism.

Le Xuan Tanh, the President of the Association, says: “During the fierce struggle, tens of thousand of soldiers died. We have organized this requiem to pray for the salvation of their souls. It’s our thoughts to the soldiers, who sacrificed their lives to protect the citadel in 1972 and all the other fallen soldiers and their families.”
