US Department of Defense spokesman Commander Sean Robertson said that the agreement will be implemented, with some operations to begin soon. The Pentagon spokesperson added they were currently reviewing options for the Joint Coordination Center with their Turkish military counterparts. He said the security measures will be implemented in stages. The United States is prepared to begin implementing certain other measures more rapidly as discussions continue with Turkey. The agreement aims at creating a buffer zone between the Turkish border and areas controlled by the Kurdish People’s Defense Units.
