(VOVworld) - The US-led coalition in Syria has carried out a "successful" raid against ISIS leaders in the eastern province of Deir al-Zor, according to Navy Captain Jeff Davis, a Pentagon spokesman.

Captain Davis said the operation that "focused on ISIL (ISIS) leadership" was conducted by a US special forces unit, who are tasked with tracking top militants. However, he added that reports by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that 25 extremists had died in the raid were "grossly exaggerated”.
Talking about the battle with ISIS in Mosul, Iraq, Davis said ISIS militants have used less trucks carrying bombs than it used to, which illustrates the militants’ weakening capabilities.
