Persian Gulf states may expand list of demands on Qatar

Saudi Arabia’s royal advisor Saud Al-Qahtani said on Tuesday that the list of 13 demands on Qatar may be extended, now that Doha’s “evil scheme” has been revealed. The demands include shutting down Qatar’s Al Jazeera news network and a Turkish military base in Qatar. Qahtani tweeted that Qatar should adjust its hostile policies, which were approved following former Qatari King Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani’s coup against his father in 1995. According to Qahtani, Qatar’s lie that its state news agency was hacked and false statements attributed to Qatar’s ruler Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani are not the main cause of the Gulf’s diplomatic crisis.
Qatar Defense Minister Khalid bin Mohammad al-Attiyah said no country can demand the shutting down of the Turkish military base on Qatar’s territory.
