'Phase two' trade deal with China may come after US election
(VOVWORLD) - Negotiations for the second phase of a pending US-China trade deal will begin right away but it will take a little time and the outcome may have to wait until after this year's elections, President Donald Trump told reporters on Thursday.

Trump’s statement came days before Beijing's trade envoy, who is confirmed by China to be Vice Premier Liu He, is scheduled to sign a "phase one" agreement in Washington, marking a pause in the two countries' two-year trade war.
Last December, China and the US agreed on a “phase one” deal under which, the US will exempt tariffs on 160 billion USD of Chinese goods, and China will drop plans to impose tariffs on US goods and will increase its imports of US wheat and corn.
