(VOVWORLD) - The Philippines on Thursday condemned China’s holding of military drills in a disputed part of the South China Sea (called the East Sea in Vietnam), warning it could impact China’s relationship with its neighbours.

Philippine Defence Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said China's naval exercises in the South China Sea are a cause for concern and will sound alarm bells for all the claimants in the region.
