(VOVworld) – The Philippine government strongly protests China’s construction and operation of two lighthouses on artificial islands in the East Sea, the Philippines’s Foreign Affairs Department said on Monday.

Spokesman for the Foreign Affairs Department Charles Jose said these actions are obviously intended to change the status quo and bolster China’s territorial claim in the East Sea. He said the Philippines will not accept these unilateral actions.
